Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data skyfireart.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

I am the data controller for this website. There is no data protection officer — for anything concerning your data, write to me at the address above and I will answer personally.

What I collect, and why

If you subscribe to the newsletter. I collect your e-mail address, and nothing else. I use it only to tell you when new works appear in the gallery — a few letters a year at most.
Legal basis: your consent. You give it by ticking the box on the form, and you can withdraw it at any time — see How to unsubscribe below.

If you write to me or place an order. I collect the details you enter in the form: your name, e-mail address, telephone number, delivery address, city and postal code, and your message. If you order as a company, I also collect the company name, VAT number and legal address.
Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract. Invoices and VAT records are kept because Latvian tax law requires it.

When you simply visit the site. The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. This sets cookies in your browser and sends Google an anonymised record of your visit, including a truncated IP address.
Legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner. If you decline, analytics is not loaded. Refusing changes nothing about how the site works for you.

I do not collect anything else. There is no profiling, no automated decision-making, and I do not buy or scrape contact details from anywhere.

Who else sees your data

Only the services I need to run the site and send you what you ordered:

• Tilda Publishing — hosts this website and carries form submissions to me.
• Google (Google Analytics) — visit statistics, as described above.
• My e-mail provider — messages from the site arrive in my mailbox.
• Postal and courier services — Latvijas Pasts, DHL and similar, when a work is shipped to you. They receive only the name and address needed for delivery.
• Marketplaces — if you buy through Etsy, Saatchi Art, ArtMajeur or Singulart, that platform is the seller of record and handles your data under its own privacy policy, not this one.

I do not sell your data, rent it, or pass it to anyone for advertising.

Where your data goes

Tilda Publishing and Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. Postal and courier data stays within the destination country’s postal system.

How long I keep it

• Newsletter address — until you unsubscribe, and then it is deleted.
• Enquiries that go nowhere — up to two years, then deleted.
• Order and invoice records — five years, because Latvian accounting law requires it. This one I cannot shorten at request.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask me to:

• show you what data I hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete it
• restrict what I do with it
• send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format
• stop processing it, where I rely on consent or legitimate interest

Write to info@skyfireart.com. I will answer within one month. There is no charge.

If you think I have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Latvian data protection authority: Datu valsts inspekcija, Elijas iela 17, Riga, LV-1050, pasts@dvi.gov.lv, dvi.gov.lv.

How to unsubscribe

You can leave the newsletter whenever you like, for any reason or none, and I will not ask why.

• Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any letter I send. This takes effect immediately.
• Or write to info@skyfireart.com with the word “unsubscribe”. I will remove you within a few days at the latest.

Once you unsubscribe your e-mail address is deleted, not simply marked inactive. If you later want to come back, you are welcome to sign up again.

Cookies

The site sets two kinds of cookie:

• Necessary — set by Tilda so the site works and forms submit. These cannot be switched off.
• Analytics — set by Google Analytics, only if you accept them in the cookie banner.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the necessary ones may stop forms from working.

Children and age

The artwork on this site is suitable for viewers of any age, and there is no age restriction on browsing it. I do not ask your age, and I do not collect it in any form.

Age matters in one place only: the newsletter, because it runs on consent. Under Latvian law a child may give that consent from the age of 13. If you are younger than that, please ask a parent or guardian to subscribe instead. If I become aware that a younger child’s address has reached the list, I delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. If the change is significant and affects newsletter subscribers, I will say so in a letter.
